Is it any weirder than waking up with magic powers?

what kind of magic powers? how long have you had them?

I've been able to make fire and heal people since May.

The fire came first, maybe...March?

was it weird? getting powers out of nowhere?

Yep. It was weird.
And it's mostly...hard to explain?
It's like I'm pulling fire out of my soul or something.
But it's really helpful, especially when there are monsters.

Except the stupid fire-proof ones.

of course there are fire-proof monsters. why wouldn't there be.
i've heard about people having superpowers like telekinesis and super strength and stuff, but not enough about real magic.
you'll have to show me sometime. if that's okay.

I have no objection to that, really. It's hardly a secret :)

oh yeah? how many other magic users do you know?
but then again, i guess there really is no point in keeping a lot of secrets when we are all dealing with the same thing.

Powers are a bit more common than they seem.

there's no turning them off once you receive them though, is there?

No, though, why would you want to?

well! that is usually a thing in superhero magic arcs whwere powers go out of control sometimes or people are learning to deal with their new abilities and they wish they could temporarily turn them off.
i guess i was wondering if a real world setting would mean that is a possibility, but i guess not.

It is a possibility. I know I accidentally set a few things on fire at first.

But it's not a comic book. You do eventually learn control. It's as easy as walking for me now.

i'll have to take your word for it, but if i ever obtain superpowers i will let you know.
