Yeah, we did get stuck together for Valentine's though. Like, actually stuck.

[That had been no fun.]

It was weird.

That sounds really uncomfortable. Like with glue or what? [A bite of pie.] How'd you get unstuck?

By some sort of red string.

It went away after Valentine's Day?

I mean I've heard of the red string thing but that sounds a little ridiculous even for them. AT least it went away...was it just you guys? Did other people get stuck, too?

Oh, yes, it was definitely other people. A lot of other people.

[She wasn't totally sure just how many, but she heard it happened a lot.]

It made quite a stir I think. More Retrospec nonsense I guess.

I wish it was easier to tell what brand of nonsense they are going to make us deal with. [A shake of the head.] That sounds like a pain though, sorry guys. At least you were stuck together and not with total strangers! [...some...bright side.]

Weirdly, it kind of feels like they're leaving us alone this month.

It is what it is. [Annoying but not world shattering.]

But you are right. It does feel like we're being left alone. Kinda nice.

Any bets on how long that'll last? [It is nice. He can just hang out with a good friend, eat pie, and not worry about stupid bullshit happening to him.] My money's on at least another month, optimistically.

[Because John Egbert has also come to realize that in the old universe, all sorts of stupid shit happens on or around his birthday.]

Oh that's optimistic alright.

[Yukiko laughs softly. That's totally a ridiculous thought. Two whole quiet months?!]

It's usually every other month that something wild happens. Sometimes more, but...that's been my experience.

I've kind of noticed that, too. November and December weren't too bad, but then January and February were a little much. It's like there's a pattern that's being followed by the storms or whatever the fuck is causing all of this. I think it's storms? I don't know, sometimes it is hard to tell if those updates every month are serious or not.

Storms seem reasonable. Though there are also just glitches, like where taste vanished for a few weeks. AT least. they said that was a glitch.

Yeah. It's a lot easier to belief them than try to argue with their logic I think, so it's fine. Now that we know this is going to keep happening though I kind of want to be able to do something about it. Especially since summer is really close.

Yeah. I do too. With class letting out, I plan on stepping up my training routines and maybe visiting some of those other places.

It's been forever since I left the city.

Doesn't sound like a bad idea. Even after being gone all month I am kind of thinking about leaving again already and checking the other places, too. I think Dave might kill me if I go anywhere without him right now, but soon.

We should go together sometime if you want. As far as I know most of the places are pretty close by anyway.

Oh sure. I'd like that. You and Dave, I can bring Eleanor and Al Capug.

[She has the van. And where there's a van there's a way.]

That doesn't sound like a bad idea. Dave likes both of you, too, and we'll just have to leave Mewpac with Rose again. But the only place he's been so far is Magatus and I think he would appreciate ditching the snow for a while. Bosuma's like two hours by horse but between you and me I am not really that great with horses.

I'm better with chocobos, personally. But I was thinking maybe Pesgare? We can take the Mystery Wagon. That'll be fun!

Pesgare could be fun! I like the ocean and it's not that far. We might have to take a boat the rest of the way but we can figure it out when we want to go.

Oh sure, that sounds good to me. We can plot it out in advance, of course. Since we'll have to make a day or two of it, at least. That's not a quick trip.

A weekend maybe? There're bound to be places we can stay out there and everything. That's also if we can get Eleanor and Dave to agree to being out there that long but I think as long as they're with us they won't have any objections.

Yeah, I think that we'll manage. And they will too. Eleanor likes camping and such, if nothing else.

Dave...doesn't. [He laughs.] But he'll deal, I know how to bribe him. I should maybe bribe him with pie now that I think about it...but definitely when you guys aren't busy we can check it out. It's been too long since the four of us did anything anyway. Ninja Warrior was the last thing right?

Yeah. We'll make it work. Definitely.

I would be surprised if we didn't. At least if we wait a few weeks, too, we can see what other bullshit they'll throw at us. If it turns out Pesgare's not in the cards we can go somewhere else.

Exactly. It's not like there's a hurry.
