Hello,

This is Mohammed Hefaz, one of the people on Retrospc. Naoto told me you could help me out with something. I recently remembered having some sort of superpower and she told me to check with you.

I remember being able to create fire with my mind, but I think the explanation is more complicated than that.

Hello Mr. Hefaz,

My name is Yukiko Amagi and while I'm not sure what Naoto said, I remember having similar superpowers.

How do you mean, more complicated? And have you regained those abilities, or only memories of them?

No, none of the abilities but two memories. One of them from childhood, and another in a fight. I would think that I started the fires with psychic powers, but I felt like there was something else inside me creating that fire.

It's a vague explanation, I know, but I don't know how else to describe it.

I understand what you're saying.

More than you might know, at that. Several months ago I started having a similar feeling, and seeing that mirrored in my memories.

Have you gotten a feeling for the thing inside of you? A sense or sensation that it gives you?

Mohammed Hefaz Warmth. I know that's obvious considering the fire, but it felt familiar and safe rather than invasive.

Like it's a part of you?

That's a good way of putting it.

Well then you might not be that different from myself. And other friends of mine.

Do you have any idea what this being is called? I know the name of mine, now.

Nothing at all.

What do you think it is?

Truthfully? I can't say.

But if it feels that way, it sounds like it could be similar to my situation.

Are you familiar with the word Persona, as it relates to Jungian Psychology?

I never took any psychology courses, I only know some of the basics. But doesn't that have to do with how to act around different groups of people? Or does it refer to a personality we put on display?

That's right. In Jungian Psychology it's the mask we wear to make an impression, and to shield our true selves.

I remember that word, specifically, in conjunction with the being I feel connected to. I promise you that I'm not insane, and I'm happy to meet with you to prove what I'm saying is true. That being inside me, that connection? Is called a Persona. I remember that, specifically.

I can draw on that connection. I suppose that part of myself really, and I can use magic. Maybe the same is true for you?

I know it sounds insane, but if you'd like, I'm free today. I could show you.

You don't sound insane.

I fought a sentient puddle in the desert and attacked it with fire. That's insane.

There are plenty of empty lots behind the history museum. Can we meet at 3 today?

That sounds like some of the things I've experienced.

And certainly. I'll be there at 3 on the dot, at the staff entrance.

[Other workers are leaving by the staff entrance when Yukiko arrives. Some watch her if she comes too close, other ignore her and are more than ready to go home. At 3:05, Mohammed leaves the door and waits outside while he searches for the person matching the Retrospec profile.]

[Yukiko more or less hangs out in the parking lot until right at 3, when she walks up and leaves the Mystery Machine behind. Not really having looked up Mohammed beforehand, she's more or less standing around looking like she is waiting for someone, until she spots someone who seems to linger and appears to be searching.]

Mr. Mohammed?

[A teenage girl walks up to him and calls his name. That has to be her. He leaves the shade of the building and holds out a hand.]

Yukiko?

[Yukiko takes the hand and gives it a fairly firm handshake, then bobs her head as well.]

That's me. I hope I didn't keep you waiting.

No. I had some last minute things to finish. Sorry for the late notice.

[He pulls his hand back and adjust the strap on his bag.] I know a good place we can work.

No worries.

[She does the same with her purse.]

Lead on then.

[Funny, a few months ago she wouldn't have dreamed of following a strange man anywhere. But Naoto had sent him to her, for help. And if her judgement was off, then well, she'd deal with that.]

[The block ahead is abandoned, and judging by the lack of grass in the lawns, it has been for a while. Mohammed pauses when he reaches the corner were Souji accidentally set him on fire, peeks around, and continues once he's certain there is no fire-throwing demon not-ghost hovering beside him.]

Here. [He steps into an empty basketball court that has long lots its nets.] No one thinks of coming here.

[How odd. Really, it's strange just how abandoned some sections of the city got at times, and how peaceful. That pause though, did something happen? Oh...well not really a big deal now that they were here.]

Alright. Well. For starters, I think that I should say please don't freak out. Nothing I'm going to do is dangerous to me or you. But it may be freaky.

I've seen some frightening things. I'll be fine. [What can be worse that surprise fire demon. He does take a few steps away just to be safe and crosses his arms.]

What are you going to do?

I'm going to call out my Persona. The being that gave me the powers that I have. The...thing...that's connected to me. It's sudden and sometimes frightening, and I wanted to give you warning. It sure scared me the first time.

[With that said, Yukiko holds out her right hand, blue flames beginning to ripple down her arm and coalesce into the form of a floating rectangle a little bigger than a playing card. It seems to solidify for a half second...]

Come forth! Sumeo-Okami!

[Her fingers close, crushing the card. The air ripples with unseen energy and the sound of glass breaking shatters the silence...and behind Yukiko appears something. A figure made of golden metal, feminine, with no facial features beyond the ridge of eyebrows and nose. Her right hand holds an enormous katana, and her left grips it's matched set. The winglike arms, set with jewels, fold around Yukiko like a shield and there's a distinct pressure in the clearing as the Persona studies them both with an eyeless gaze.]

[The wings are what he sees first. Spread across the court proudly as the...woman floats above them. There is no face to read, but there is no malice in the air. It almost feels like she is here to protect Yukiko.

She's beautiful.

She feels powerful.]

It's impressive. [Is what he can manage to say. Taking a few seconds to look away, he asks Yukiko:] What was that in your hand?
