[ He's always liked Yukiko well enough. Sure, she can be a little...intense at times, but for the most part she's been nice to him. So why wouldn't he? Even if he's (mostly) accepted that he's got zero chance with her, that doesn't mean they can't be friends, does it?
He comes to a stop and adjusts the strap of his bag on his shoulder. ]
Yeah, but there were definitely some close calls. I'm never going to look at a miniature poodle the same way again, let me tell you...
[ He...doesn't want to think about it. ]
But it's kinda frustrating to know we went through all of that but people don't seem to care, you know?
[Not a chance in heck, Yosuke. But friendship, well, that means more to her than romance anyway.]
Really? Al was pretty well behaved the whole time. I rode him around town.
[Pugwagons...]
But you're right. It's like nothing happened to the...uh...sleepers at all. I guess that's what they're like. I mean, they feel like they're asleep, you know? Oblivious.
[Yukiko nods very seriously, stepping out onto the field and turning around to face him once she's a few yards away.]
It's not just memories that've started happening, Yosuke.
[Spreading her arms wide, palms upturned towards the sky, she smiles and closes her eyes in concentration. Here's where things get weird.]
Please don't freak out.
[Curling her fingers upwards, she calls on that inner self, that spark deep down inside her. It's getting easier and easier with time and practice, becoming almost instinctive. After a moment, when she does make that connection...fire appears, little ping-pong ball sized balls of flame flickering to life above each palm.]
Yosuke is, admittedly, very curious. He knows that things have happened like hair and eye color changing, people suddenly speaking new languages, etc. But he isn't at all prepared for this.
He watches intently, eyes suddenly going wide when she goes all X-Men on him. Yosuke jumps. ]
[Yep, that's her, a regular member of the Z-Men. Standing there awkwardly, and looking just a little bit hurt by that reaction. Her fingers close around the magic, crushing it out.]
Also, it kind of happens to be the first actual bit of magic he's seen coming from one of his friends, so...at least she's paving the way for everyone else, right? Sorry, Yukiko.
Freaked out as he is, Yosuke manages to pull himself somewhat together, feeling a little better once the flames are extinguished. ]

[ Okay, that would've been kind of cool... ]
...well, I don't have any pets, so...missed opportunities, I guess.
[ He's not sad. (He's a little sad.) ]
"Sleepers"? Ahaha, man, that's totally what we should call them!
no subject
I think so too. It fits quite well, I believe.
[She also feels glad someone else thinks it's cool because she's been trying to come up with a word for them for days.]
Um. did anything extraordinary happen to you, other than the shrinking? More hallucinomemories?
no subject
[ Just putting that out there, universe. If you're listening. (Please be listening.) ]
Hm? Um, no, not really.
[ Yosuke shakes his head. ]
Wait, are you saying you did?
no subject
[Looking around the school, she frowns and nods towards the exit.]
Let me...show you something.
[This is seriously weird. But he's been in her visions, and she's seen him inside the TV. So...]
I don't want to freak out the sleepers though. So let's go the old practice field. It should be empty this time of year.
no subject
[ Okay, he's a little curious so to what she wants to show him, but he'll keep it on the DL.
So they make their way to the practice field, passing a few students who are leaving for the weekend, but just as Yukiko had hoped, it's empty. ]
Is everything okay?

But...this happened.

Does she know who she's talking to?

...Holy shit!?
[ Yeah about that not freaking out... ]

I...um. Apparently I can do that now.

B-But how--how did you...??
no subject
[It's not the weirdest thing that's happened lately, but his reaction has pretty much guaranteed she won't be sharing her Persona with him right now.]
It's like it's a part of me. Something I forgot. But...I remember now.
no subject
Like you forgot...?
[ Wait a second.
He may not have the most tact at times, but he's fairly decent at drawing logical conclusions as long as it doesn't relate to, like, dating. ]
You mean like all the visions people've been getting?
no subject
[It's the metal bird lady thanks. Her Stand, Metal Sax.]
Like I forgot, yes. Like...I have always had this power, and never known about it.
[That's about the shape of things.]
I'm sure something will come to you in time.
no subject
[ Forgetting something like this? ]
I mean...something like this would be pretty hard to forget, don't you think?
no subject
Magic, even. I...don't have a good answer, Yosuke.
no subject
no subject
But I've had visions of this stuff too, yeah.
no subject
[ That sounds like a slight against Yukiko, but it isn't. Probably. ]
Really? So maybe you see it and then you get to do it.
no subject
[She gives him a glower, but it doesn't last.]
And I think there's more to it than that. I've had visions of me doing other things too, things I can't do yet.
no subject
[ What could be cooler than starting fires? ]
no subject
[What did you expect her to say? ]
no subject
...Somehow, that doesn't seem to have the same gravity.
